Rantau Abang.

A sea turtle nesting place...

From Kuantan, drive north for about 2 hours, passing through the oil town of Kerteh, Paka and Dungun.
From Dungun town, head further north for another 5 minutes.
You should be passing over th Dungun river bridge.
After the bridge, passing by the exit to Teluk Bidara recreational beach.
You will see a curve on the road and giant rock boulders which marks the beginning of Rantau Abang beacheson your right.

The beaches of Rantau abang located in the state of Terengganu on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia,
are famed for being the landing sites of Pacific Giant leatherback turtles.

Rantau Abang is one of only six places in the world visited by these turtles from month of May to September.
